Dr. Maurine Howard is a businesswoman as well as an Art Enthusiast and Philanthropist. She devotes much of her time to Taylor Howard International, Inc., the Yachty Gras Foundation and international business. She grew up in the real estate industry with her father, who was a broker and contractor. Her mother was an International acclaimed artist who instilled many art techniques to Maurine.

Through education Dr. Howard works as an artist in design, photography, jewelry, sculpture, mixed-media, and weaving. The positions held in her career have been CEO, President, Executive Director, and Consultant to several corporations and nonprofit organizations.
From 1972-1985, she was CEO of Eye See Images, Inc. an International Commercial, Industrial and High-risk Photography Studio. This corporation grew into Taylor Howard International, Inc., a Marketing, Management, and Construction company specializing in International Consulting. As President from 1985 to present of this corporation, Maurine still works in development of new markets.

In 1993 she established The Shady Brook Foundation in Taos, New Mexico. This was a resort and educational facility which contained hotel, restaurant, gallery, staff apartments, administrative housing, recreational area, gift shop, store, post office, laundry, maintenance department, and conference center. Shady Brook was an 1864 town in Kit Carson National Forest. Shady Brook was a wonderful physical plant for artists to come for accredited and continuing education courses. The facility has been used by universities and organizations worldwide to educate students.
Dr. Howard has been a board member or trustee of numerous non-profit organizations, taking many of them from conception to completion. A few of the organizations she has been affiliated with are The Children’s Museum of Houston, the USS Houston Memorial in Heritage Park Houston, Texas City Mainland Museum, Galveston Historical Foundation, Galveston Arts Center, Galveston Revitalization Committee, Strand Historic District Association, Yachty Gras Grand Night Boat Parade in Clear Lake, the Yachty Gras Foundation, Mermaid Cove, International Speaker at the Women’s Conference in Beijing, China. She has many honors and awards.
